Compressor Overhaul and Remanfacture

Established in 2000, ACES is now one of the largest compressor remanufacturing companies in the UK. Our success is attributed to a team of people who have spent most of their working lives in the compressor remanufacturing field. This experience makes us the first choice for customers who demand quality and value for a remanufactured compressor. Being leaders in the business means having a reputation to live up to. Our precision, thoroughness, technical knowledge and speed of response are put to the test every day. Usually, we can supply a replacement compressor off the shelf - often within hours, thanks to our detailed, computerised system. In the event of the compressor you require not being in stock then we can overhaul and return yours within days.

New Hanbell Compressors

ACES are the UK authorised dealer for Hanbell Compressors and this includes the RC2 series Semi Hermetic Screw Compressor, RC2-AV series Variable Frequency Semi Hermetic Screw Compressor and the RC2-AVI series Frequency With Automatically Adjustable VI Screw Compressor.
RC2 series Semi Hermetic Screw Compressor

was developed for applications in refrigeration and air conditioning. It has a high operating load design and each Hanbell compressor has high efficiency and is reliable in all operating conditions such as heat pump system and refrigeration and thermal storage.

Screw Compressors

Each compressor is given a unique number stamped on the body casting - this number stays with the compressor for its life and is recorded on all relative correspondence. This number also goes into our computer database where the history of the compressor can be recalled at the push of a button.

The first process is to drain out any oil and completely strip down the compressor.

The screw rotors, capacity regulation or volume (Vi) slide, and gate rotors (as applicable) are inspected and measured using micrometers. Providing that these are within tolerance they are polished and recycled.

Seals, gaskets, filter(s) and bearings are discarded regardless of condition, and replaced with new.

The stator windings are removed, identified with the compressor and sent to our electrical re-wind department for testing or re-wind.

Each winding is subjected to 2000V-to-earth flash test, ohms readings are taken with a multi-meter and recorded, and then the winding is subjected to a full load test on a transformer. Any winding that fails these tests is rewound.

All cast components, ie body and end covers, are then thoroughly cleaned using a Vaqua wet blaster or degreaser tank.

The compressor is then reassembled by one of our experienced personnel in accordance with the original manufacturers procedures, tolerances and clearances, and checks are made at every stage of the assembly.

Once assembled the compressor is bench-tested electrically with a flash tester again and ohms readings are recorded.

Scroll Compressors

Unlike reciprocating compressors with many moving parts, the scroll compressor has one scroll or spiral orbiting a matching fixed scroll.

The orbiting motion creates a series of gas pockets travelling between the two scrolls. On the outer portion of the scroll the pocket draws in refrigerant gas, then moves it to centre of the scroll where it is discharged. As the refrigerant gas moves through the increasingly smaller inner scroll, the temperature and pressure increase to the desired discharge pressure.

This design achieves 100% volumetric efficiency, which provides reduced energy costs in many applications. Re-expansion losses, which typically occur with each piston stroke and at the suction valve reeds in reciprocating models, are eliminated.

This smooth operation results in quieter operation with less vibration.

ACES stock a large range of Maneurop, Danfoss Performa and Copeland scroll compressors at very competitive prices.
